The most common way to get to Les Gets is via a flight and an airport transfer. This is typically done via Geneva Airport (GVA). This is the way most people arrive at the resort. If you find yourself in circumstances that demand something different, then we have all the information you need right here.
The closest airport to Les Gets is Geneva (GVA). It is approximately one hour drive from the airport to Les Gets village centre. It is also possible to fly to Grenoble (GNB) or Lyon (LYS) however we highly recommend you fly into Geneva as there are excellent transfers between there and Les Gets. There is no Les Gets airport.
Airport | Transfer Time | Distance |
---|---|---|
Geneva GVA (recommended) | 1 hr 10 mins | 73 kilometres / 45 miles |
Lyon LYS | 2 hrs 14 mins | 199 kilometres / 123 miles |
Grenoble GNB | 2 hrs 16 mins | 202 kilometres / 125 miles |
Getting from the UK to Les Gets is relatively easy, with most of the major airports having good connections to Geneva (GVA). Les Gets is just 1-hour drive from Geneva airport, and this is the airport we recommend our guests use. Although there are other airports relatively close by (Grenoble [GNB] or Lyon [LYS]), we would not recommend using them as it's more difficult to get from the other airports to Les Gets. We can arrange transfers for from Geneva airport to the door of your chalet. These transfers are in shared or private minibuses and are arranged around your flight times.
For transfers from any other airports, railway stations or other locations, please just contact us for options.
It is possible to fly direct from Ireland to Les Gets, and by that we mean to Geneva, Switzerland! Geneva airport is actually the best airport for your ski holiday in Les Gets. You do have an option of three airports you can arrive at: Grenoble (GNB) or Lyon (LYS) in France, and Geneva (GVA) in Switzerland, but we recommend Geneva. At the time of writing (Nov 2022) all of these airports have direct flights from Dublin. Getting a connecting flight via London from any Irish airport will give you more options.

The closest train station to Les Gets is in Cluses. However, we wouldn't always recommend arriving here as it can be a bit inefficient. Let's look at this, and the alternative options:
The option we would recommend is to get the train to Geneva airport (GVA), and take a normal airport transfer from there. From the UK, you can take the Eurostar to Paris, and then the TGV that connects Paris to Geneva at great speed (about 3 hours). When you arrive at Geneva Main station, take the train out to the airport (about 15 mins). From here there are many transfer options to Les Gets, which takes about 1 hour.
The second option is to take the train to Cluses (about 4:30 hours from Paris Gare de Lyon). Cluse train station is about 30 mins drive (22 kilometers) from Les Gets. Transfers from here can be a bit more awkward. It involves changing trains to get there, so you might find the Geneva option above a bit easier.
It is a relatively straightforward (if not slightly long) drive from Calais to Les Gets. You typically travel via Geneva, as this gives you the best road options. Top tip: Avoid the centre of Paris at all costs!
